2000 Mazda Millenia Wheel bearing?
Hey Guys,
I have a 2000 Millenia thats making a humming noise while driving. I narrowed the issue down to front wheel bearings. Im thinking about buying the front wheel bearing hubs and replace them myself. However, i would like to know if anyone has a DIY guide for this? how hard is it to replace?
Thanks

The bearings are pressed into the knuckle. You will have to remove the knuckle and press the hub out first and then the bearing. The outer bearing race always sticks to the hub and must be weakened by cutting a deep slice into it and then forcing it off the hub with a chisel/air hammer. Labor time is about 2 hours per side and requires a very good press/adapters. You could probably save some money if you removed the knuckle and found a shop/parts store that can do it. Hopefully you don't need a hub as they can be very pricey.
im planning on buying the whole bearing/hub assembly, so i wont have to going through the process of hammering out the bearing. How hard is it to replace the whole bearing/hub assembly? Im thinking about doing this myself. Thanks
you cant do this yourself unless you have some very special tools and a mondo press. the bearing/hub is NOT an assembly. the hub is separate from the bearing. it will have to be pressed out of the bearing, then the bearing has to be pressed out of the knuckle. i have never done this on the millenia, but i have on other cars. i take the knuckle assembly to a machine shop and they do it. if you dont want a long down time, get another knuckle and have it done, then just swap it out
