I have a 1997 Mazda Millenia L 2.5 with 92K mile on it. Lately I've been hearing a whirling noise from the transmission when the transmission is in park. It's not consistent, but is happening more often as time goes on. It happens more often after driving for a good 45 minutes. When driving the car the transmission seems to be fine in drive at all speeds and in reverse.

What is it?. Can it be repaired. How much longer can I expect the car to last?
