Default 1996 Millenia S 2.3L-TCS and other issues-Help!!

Hi...this is my first post on this forum, so bear with me.

I have a '96 Mazda Millenia S that I have owned since 1998 and it has about 235,000 miles on it. It has been an awesome car and I love it.

Recently we had the TCS issue I see so frequently on this forum. We changed out the ABV and the EGR valve and initially this seemed to solve the problems. On a test drive after, the TCS lights came back on and we went in to limp mode.

The car has been back in the shop. They have been investigating why the TCS and Transmission don't seem to be communicating. Now they are telling me it needs a whole new computer? WTH??

Are there any other feasible issues that it could be? And if not, does anyone know what the part number is for a computer and approximate cost?

Thanks for your help.
Hilarie
