Default 02 Millenia speedometer/tach needles

I have an 02 Millenia S 2.3 supercharged. My red tach and speedometer needles have gone out. Any ideas?

Was it a sudden failure or gradual? All the other gauges work fine?

They went out and then blinked on a couple of times. Now they are completely out. All other gauges work fine. These gauges work, but they don't glow red anymore.

Sounds like a ground is bad in the cluster (or a cable connection), double check your fuses and all other lights making sure they work, strange things can happen when a bulb is blown, dads Disco I had a blown brake light, would not go out of Park, hooked up brake light wire to defrost grid fool system. What happens if you lightly or even moderately hit the cluster (AKA the Russian way of fixing) do the lights flicker back on?

Thanks for the info. Fuses are ok. I've knocked, wiggled, banged, etc. everything I could to no avail. It's one of those things that just bugs the snot out of ya! Before I actually pulled it out, I wanted to get some idea of what's wrong. They've been out a few months now.

It COULD be a burned out bulb but I cant imagine one bulb for two needles so far apart unless they are wired in series.
