Hello all! Last Thursday I came across my first Miata. As of right now it is not boosted, but I would like to boost it. A few of my friends have told me that I can take a 1980's model 626 (turbo'd) and take to turbo off of it. Will that bolt right on? This is my first Mazda. It has 80,000 on the rebuilt motor and is getting a new transmission this weekend. My main question is will the turbo (kit) off a 626 fit up to mine, and if not what would I have to do to get it to fit?

 

I am not sure if the turbo will fit, never worked on a Miata before but what I can say is 80,000 miles (or km) is ALOT on an engine rebuilt or not its still old, it may not last long under boost conditions since the engine is not designed for it.

 

It's used to be boosted. The kit it had was taken out by the PO. I would just like to know if it would work or not.

 

Most likely will not just simply fit perfect. What year is the car?
