Default Wheel widths

I have a customer looking to upgrade his wheels on his Miata.

He currently owns a '94 Miata, and the tire size on the stock wheels is: 14x5.5 4x100/+45 offset

He wants to jump to: 17x7.5 4x100/+35 offset

Does anyone have experience with this? Anyone have rubbing issues, or suspension issues from using this size?
Thanks for your input.

I have 17x7's on my 1990 with +40 0ffset and they dont rub, i haven't come across anyone with a 7.5, but with less offset i think they wouldnt rub.
