Default Seat belt retractor

Any ideas on how to fix a balky retractor? Latch gets caught in door if not rewound by hand. The retractor looks difficult to get to?

Replace the whole retractor. Those are more complicated than they look and if you do it wrong the consequences are severe (belt doesn't lock up and you are un-restrained in an impact.)

Your b-pillar trim should probably pull straight out. (hidden fasteners) It should be just under the plastic trim piece and bolted in to the sheetmetal behind it.

See if your local dealer will let you look in their factory repair manual. Typically it will have a diagram that shows the exact method for removing the trim panel without damaging any of the attachment points hidden underneath. I wouldn't want you to break the trim panel trying to get to the retractor.

Once you know how it comes off, it should be an easy removal.

I'll see what I can do, too cold to fool with it now, the car is going into hibernation today.

Thanks for the help,
