Default New Battery for 2001 Miata

I need to replace the original battery in my 2001 Miata. Any suggestions? Does the miata require a certain type of battery, or should I just go to pep boys and get one?

thanks

Yes your Miata does require a special type of battery. Since it is located in the trunk area you need to get a closed cell or gel filled battery. The battery needs to have vents that can be routed to the outside of the car so you do not get fumes building up in your trunk. Pepboys should know that and be able to get you the correct part.

Try Auto Zone...After 3 replacements from the most popular suplier, Westco, I have found a superior gel cel battery at AutoZone.
