MX5 ND Roof leak drivers side bracket
I noticed that someone posted an update on the Fiat 124 spider roof leak forum that "The roof fabric had a fault, two areas found to be leaking, one slight tear and one tape water breach". https://www.124spider.org/threads/wa...reply_top_post
Hope that helps someone find a solution to the problem as it is driving me crazy.

I was really hoping for an answer as well. 2019 ND MX-5. Same issue in the exact spot as the OP except both sides (passenger side is the worst). The top is in great condition. I have had the "A" gaskets replaced already with no luck. $4500 for a new soft top is what the dealer suggested if the leaks remained/returned after the replacement "A" gaskets. There has to be a common reason for this. It is too odd of a location for others to have this going on with soft tops in seemingly great condition.

This was about 3 months ago and despite the car living outside and having been in heavy rain I haven’t had a single drip come through since. It seems for me unclipping and reseating the rubber fixed the issue.
None of it looked out of place before and I don’t think I did anything special, but it really seems in my case that the rubber had just got moved slightly out of position over time and maybe water was unable to flow away down the normal channels, causing it build up and eventually work its way through the hinge into the cabin.
While I can’t say doing this will fix it for other people I believe the problem is essentially water unable to flow away normally and building up. It’s either some sort of blockage from debris, or the rubber has moved (or warped) causing a blockage in the channel. This is most likely why it occurs mainly on the door that gets used more (I rarely have a passenger) and might explain why it usually happens suddenly, in my case after the car was detailed.
