Hill holder feature
Hi, y'all......
Please pardon the intrusion...... I have a 2019 FIAT 124 spider, 6-speed, also called the "Fiata", since it is basically the same car (excepting powerplant, of course).
Does anyone know of a permanent fix to disable the "Hill Start Assist" feature? My dealer says that since it is Mazda software, his scan tool shows no remedy.
thanx
steve

I've driven stickshift for 50 years, and this feature is dangerous. It requires too much clutch slip to overcome the locked brake, and the upset to normal driving has often led to a stall, with the near-case of getting slammed in the rear by cars gunning it up the hill behind me.
I see no reason why the driver shouldn't decide how best to operate the vehicle.

All Mazda's now have a EPB ( Electronic Park Brake ) You no longer have the handbrake lever for a hill start.
I think it might just be a case of having to teach the old dog new tricks.
