my '91 just started a new trick. The airbag idiot light flashes 10 times in succession, pauses, then repeats. The cycle is continuous with key on. Anyone know if this is fixable or disconnectable????

 

Better be careful! It means the bag or accelerometer subassembly needs attention.
Messing around an set it off (even so much as tilting it the wrong way). My shop manual is for a '99 Protege: it's full of caution notes, and I won't give you details because what's OK for mine might not apply, and you'd end up blowing yourself up.
