They set out to transform a run of the mill roadster (albeit the worlds best selling one) that does what it was designed to very well into a Speedster. The Catfish may be based on an MX-5 Miata but the finished product does not resemble one at all. Much of the Miata's parts have been replaced by Catfish, including a new hood, trunk, doors, bumpers, and a top and convertible frame. The Catfish Speedster will be offered with a standard 1.6 litre engine or a 1.8 litre NB Rotrex with over 260hp, but for customers who want a little more push, Bauer will also be offering an LS2 V8 engine.
