Alternator Wires

Alternator Wires
I have a1991 Mazda Miata.
Over the weekend I notice that there were two wires (White/Black and White/Green) that had no termination point. However I notice that they were suppose to be connected to the side of the alternator. Not sure which one goes where because they are interchangeable.
What arethe purpose of those wires anddoes it matter which one goes where?
Please note the reference wires are like 22 gauge wires, very small gauge wires.
Thanks in advance for your answers..

RE: Alternator Wires
I know a little about alternators. Usually they will have 2 or 3 wires. If they are big fat wires they carry current. Which will go to the voltage reguator, fuse box or to the battery. If it is a smaller wire hook up it would be a sender for the dash light, or warning lamp. For the smaller wire, check in a haynes manual, mitchell manual, at a libray or get one they are very handy, or even check autozones site for repair manuals. I don't have one for a 91 but I will look into it for you. Check to see with others that write too that have the manual or know where it goes. It is not too critical though.

RE: Alternator Wires
Thanks for your reply. I plugged it in and I notice that my Air bag light that has been blinking for sometime is no longer doing so. I want to assume those two wires were for the Air Bag.
If there are other opinions please indicate so...
