Default 99 won't fire

I have a 99 with 100 k on the clock. last night after work, I tried to start it, it will spin over, but it won't fire. I pulled a plug to smell for gas and no gas. I assume it should have a little on the plug?
Also I saw in the archive it could be the cam angle sensor? Is there a way to check the fuel pump, and where would it be. Not sure on miatas how to check/change the fuel pump.
Thanks Mike
99 5 speed 100k

Pull a plug wire and check for spark. The fuel pump will not work if the PCM does not see spark.
