Default 94' shift ****

I just bought a 94 in great condition. The shift **** is about the only thing ugly on it. I can't seem to take it off. Does anyone know how to do this? It seems like its bolted all the way down to the transmission. Any ideas? Tnx!

the **** should just screw right off. its its truly stuck on there you can take the shifter off. its fairly simple to remove 4 bolts for the boot and 3 bolts in the trans case. then wala you can just pop it right out and use any assortment of tools to separate the two pieces.
and if you like being able to look at the road through the bottom of you car don't worry about messing up the lower boot.

Thanks for that great advice. I will see if I can get it off again and then try taking the nuts off if it doesnt.
