I have a 1999 Miata with the OEM Bose head unit for AM/FM/CD player with auto antenna. Yesterday out of the blue, when I went to press the volume control **** it did not "detent" the button did not push in. The radio and antenna came on, but only momentarily and then proceeded to turn on and turn off. I did hear a clicking from under the dashboard, like a relay. If I put a CD in, it does the same thing, plays on and off. I think recently when I would turn up the volume it did not really move the volume bar. Maybe the control **** was starting to go? Is this something that can be fixed by a repair shop?

 

26 years for any Auto stereo system is pretty good that it lasted this long unless you have a garage queen Mazda? Even then the temperature seasonal changes even in a garage unless it is has its own HVAC system stereo age.

 

Yes, I guess. Got the radio out and dropped it off at a repair shop today. Except for the volume control know, it works fine. Hoping they can fix it!

 

I hope they do old BOSE Componets still reproduce great sound in a vehicle.
