we're sorry about that. it definitely wasn't an admin. you can tell that strictly from the 0 post count and the lack of admin title. you are the second one to complain. i will check your pm's and see what i can do if the pm is still there.

Ken,
Wes is correct, though I hadn't heard of this until now. There is no reason I know of why you might be banned. Someone hacked in.
You've been SPAMMED. No one from the site staff would send such a message.
Please forward the PM to me or Wes. We will be happy to ban the sender and research the IP.

Default BoardSupport Private Message

Who is BoardSupport and why am I getting a Private Message about this site seeing a virus on my computer? Is this legit? I opened it at home and think it actually but a virus on my computer. Now I have another official looking message saying my account will be shut down. Does this site 'see' viruses on our computers?

No it does not, and you should never open emails/PM's like that. It is a virus sent by a bot in all likelihood. For future refrence, if something sounds shady (like this) do not open it, and notify a mod immediately so that they can take care of the offending account.

^What he said. Our site doesn't scan your computer for any reason, ever. There is no reason for us to do so.

These pm's have become more common. I will write up a thread on what to do in this scenario.

For your reference, next step would be to report the member by clicking on his profile.

Where do you report the sender? There's actually two but I don't see on their user profile page where I report them.

It would be on the pm itself. I believe that my controls are different from yours, so I don't have a way to tell what yours looks like.

For now, just go to the profile and copy and paste the web address back to this thread. I can handle it from there.
