Hi i have a mazda miata 1999 automatic i blew the motor and im tryung to find a cheap replacment. Any advice for a easy relacment. The stock motors are 12 to 15 hundred could i put a dufferent motor thanks

 

Having worked on our two NA Miatas and become pretty familiar with the engine, I'm going to say your best and least expensive option would be to pony up and buy a used stock motor. Yes, there are a lot of conversion kits to change the Miata to a different engine, but they typically cost thousands of dollars, and if I am not mistaken, they are all meant for Miatas with manual transmissions.
