The passenger power seat in my 2007 CX-9 can not recline/tilt forward (it can recline back OK, and move forward and back OK). Maybe the motor is OK since it can tilt back but not forward? Electric issue? switch issue?

Any suggestions?

 

Grab a test light and check output from the switch.

 

OK thank you. So I would use something like this and when you say switch, the switch mechanism on the side of the seat. Will i have to take off the plastic cover to get to the backside of the switch?

 

Ok, so after a few hours of research and playing with the seat, i traced the problem to a faulty switch. when i took out the switch module (diagram) i was able to move recline the seat forward. I just ordered a used part on ebay for $50 (my local mazda dealer wanted $243).
