Hello All, I am fairly new to working on cars. I recently bought a 2008 mazda cx9 which was rewired (in shop) like 10 years ago due to rodents eating off harness. Since then the lighter ports (all 3) are always connected to battery even when the car is off. I want to rewire them to turn off when the car is off. Can help me with this? Any guide that I can refer to?

My wife has an 07 CX-9 with the factory display and i've been wanting to replace it with an updated unit with carplay, etc. Is there any particular head unit you would recommend? I'm going to do the job myself, and while I'm not an expert and I haven't messed around with car stereo's in quite a while, I think I can handle it.
