Difference Between Heated/Unheated Mirror Backshell Covers?
I need to replace the back shell on my daughter's 2012 CX9 passenger mirror after she had a low speed mailbox strike on a narrow road during a snowstorm while avoiding on coming car. The mirror still works fine--damage is cosmetic. The cover is missing.
Due to the long wait time and high price of just the cover plastic, I am thinking about buying the mirror assembly on eBay for $10 more and free shipping, delivered this week instead of next January. The unheated mirror is about $25 less expensive. Are these both using the same exterior cover? I was thinking to buy the unheated mirror and remove the cover and pop it onto my daughter's CX-9 mirror.
The mirror has four wires going into it, but I don't know if those control the servo motors or are for heaters. It's supposedly a Touring model and doesn't have the GPS navigation, so I'm guessing the mirrors are NOT heated, but I'm not 100% on that. a VIN lookup doesn't tell me those details about the car--I checked.
