Thinking it was my battary just needed a jump, didn't work so now I'm thinking since my key fob is broken in pieces and taped up.. Might be a dead key fob. The key won't start it either. Am I really going to have to get a new fob?

 

Check with a local locksmith about supplying and programming a new key fob. Their price is usually much less than the dealership.

There might be a different problem, or more than one problem.

 

So the key turns in the ignition cylinder but won't start the car because the security system is active?
