Default Coolant leaks at cylinder head - Warrant extended

(That should be WARRANTY extended - hate it when that happens!)

Just got a letter from Mazda advising me that they have extended the powertrain warranty to 10 years or 120,000 miles for this issue: "coolant leaks at the cylinder head around the exhaust manifold."
Fortunately, our 2016 CX-9 Touring has not had this issue, and with 220,000 miles is well outside the extended warranty. But good to know anyway.

I'm curious as to how often you have oil changes performed. I have a 2020 Mazda 6 with 36K and so far no issues. I regularly have the oil changed every 3K.

The intervals in changing the oil has no effluence in the problem noted in the first response.
I would stick by your oil service miles between 3-5 k !

Best advise if you ever have a concern and still under WARRANTY go to your dealer with your questions so it will, or they should log the info in your VIN history in the unluckily event something happens in the future.

Keep in mind all of these forum never post the actual effected numbers and seldom if even do the auto manufactures. On forums because of crossover of information they are often always exaggerated and the information inflated in narrative by members.

Synthetic oil, so 6k miles or once every year. Car is driven regularly but no longer high miles, so lately it's been once per year.

Maybe give the brand Oil and Viscosity . Also full or semi synthetic?
These actually can matter when answering a question about what is used?

For all that read this and received the notice

If you received the same notice posted earlier, I am assuming that all that read and understand it ? It does state that you have an issue. It does state that your Mazda must be confirmed to have the issue and then follow the procedure to get the extended warranty. It also does not state in any way that if additional parts and other issues are found that it is covered or will be paid for by Mazda.
It is only a mor or less Heads letter that you may be covered should the described issue happen.

I suggest that the best information and understanding what that letter means instead on Mazda forums should contact directly Customer Experience Center, Mazda North American Operations
