Our 2018 CX-9 GT had the right rear rocker molding knocked off on the interstate. Something went under the car and bounced out the side taking the molding with it. I'm not sure if that destroyed the part or if it was run over after that. Went back the next day and it was in pieces. By the time I knew what part I needed it was on backorder for Mazda with no estimate for being in stock. No salvage yards anywhere have them either. The only one available used had been sold with the door. Are our cars really that rare? Anyway, if anyone knows of one available that isn't $$$$$ key me know. It is part assembly TK49-51-RC0B.
Currently there is a shortage of many OEM parts for all the auto manufactures.
Most dealerships parts depart will or should do a nationwide inventory check on the availability of the part.
WE have a few customers cars that we cannot do the service on because of waiting for OEM parts. In our shop currently Toyota seems to be top of the list waiting for parts. But Toys and Honda's are a couple of our most common customer cars.

how do I inspire a repair shop to find my part I've been waiting for a YEAR!
How do I get my repair shop to search for parts? I hit a deer a year ago. No really A YEAR AGO and my 2021 Mazda CX-5 still has a bumper hanging half off of my car. I'm livid. That is aside from the dented door and side panel.

Assuming NWI in your info means Northwest Indiana
MAZDA DEALER Ask them to do a nationwide availability search for the part.
