2016 MPG Premium VS regular?
Hi all, we just bought a 2016 AWD and haven't driven it more than 100 miles yet. I know the HP is different when using premium but has anyone has gotten better gas mileage using premium?
Highly unlikely, Premium fuel has slightly less energy potential per unit than Regular.
The btus per gallon are identical in 87 and 90-something AKI gasoline. (120,333 btus/gallon with the volume corrected to 60°F, and subject to slight differences in refining runs.) Even if there is a very slight mpg bump, your cost per mile will likely be higher with the high octane gas--cost per mile is what really counts, not just mpg. I've tried both on long freeway runs. The car feels just a bit more responsive with the high test, but not a huge difference. It's not worth the money to me to use it.
The added hp with high octane gasoline only comes into effect over 4000 rpm or some high revs like that. (4000 might not be the number, but it's definitely higher than the usual daily drive.)

Incorrect, while the differences are small between 87, 89, 91, and 93; by definition, the higher the AKI the lower the BTU content. Why? Simple, the additives which increase the detonation resistance are non-combustible, and as such they dilute the fuel to a small degree.
