Default 2008 CX-9 HID Headlights don't project that far.

I recently picked up a 2008 Mazda CX-9. When driving at night I noticed that the light from the Xenon HID headlights only project out roughly 30 yards give or take and end with a hard line like something is blocking the light beam. I first tried restoring the headlights. They look great but no luck. I then tried installing new bulbs and made sure they are installed correctly. But once again no change other than being a little brighter. Has anyone else encountered this problem or have any suggestions on how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The projectors in these cars are far from being anything great. The "blocking" of the beam is normal for HID; that is the cut-off shield and prevents light scatter.

I upgraded to Morimoto XB's in 5000K from GE's that were in there. The Morimito's were an improvement, but far from what HID's should be. But, they will have to do for now.
