Timing chain replacement question
Ok, so I just bought an 07 CX7 and the timing chain has a decent amount of slack and there is a slight tick while idling. I'm not concerned about the ticking (I believe it's the fuel pump/ or injectors), but the dealership says it's the timing chain and VVT. I ordered parts online that include the following as well as the alignment/ TDC kit. I'm guessing I might also need a tensioner, can anyone confirm what else is needed to do this replacement properly so I dont have to worry about it again? I would greatly appreciate it!

Possibly guides/gears/tensioner.

Possibly? Is there issues with the intake cam gear? The kit comes with the VVT gear which is the one with the issue correct? I need to order before the end of the weekend so I can receive and install before next weekend. Thanks!

A lot of times a loose timing chain is caused in part by wear of the gears and not the chain stretching.

Fair enough. I was hoping to avoid spending the extra, but I'll buck up for the guides and tensioner. Thanks for your help.

Do you have the plate to lock the two camshafts?
Do you have the front crank seal & Rockercover gasket? |
