Default SCR Malfunction

Hi,

I have an error coming up on my 2010 Mazda CX 7.
I have topped up the ad blue and cleared the error code but I am still getting an SCR Malfunction.

When running the error it comes up with U0042.

Type: Network-Network data-ISO/SAE controlled.
Description: Invalid data received from ECM/PCM "B"

Does anyone anyone have any solutions or ideas on what this could be or how to fix it.

Would this be best to go through Mazda or would a normal mechanic be able to deal with it?

Thank you.

U codes are purely communication codes. What scan tool was used?

Having had experience with the Urea tank on these, I would book it in with Mazda for diagnosis.

I used torque (lite) for the scan with an OBDII. Do you have a recommendation for a better scanning ap?

Best scan tool, with the widest range of codes scanned is Mazda's MMDS.

Does the pump not working damage the engine?

It lets me reset the ad blue fill warning, so that avoids the car restricting itself and the final point of it nof turning on.

I know that you can remove the fuse to stop the error coming up, but I obviously don't want to do that if it is going to damage the engine, not the ideal solution I know.
Thanks

Default Def tank

Does anyone know where I can find info on how to drop the Def/Adblue tank.

Has anybody got the Workshop manual handy for 2010 diesel?

I have had the same issue and car has been off the road for 6 months. Mazda wanted $Aud $4000 to fix.
found a local mechanic who said the codes indicated dpf reset required. He did this (burnt soot out) put in a new battery and we have our car back.

Hope this helps some that are battling this potentially expensive issue.
