Please advise what OBDII device would be good for CX-7

I do not recommend for scan unless you are willing to go to say.. a night school class on basic Diagnostic serving.
You want a OBDII diagnostic scanner that is simple and plugs directly into the OBDII diagnostic connector.
No ABS to transmission or SRS available servicing information. Those all take hours of book study and about the same practical application to learn how to use the information and be successful in diagnostic serving. Anything less you become someone that acquires piles of to much information and not know what to do with it or assume the wrong information and start randomly replacing parts that are not failed .
Or worse (like forscan) post useless and multiple graphs and expect someone like me to take the time needed to study what you post for free and tray to weed through the wrong info or if the graph was even showing the issue or relating to basic DTC and more relevant helpful information in an ECU.

Something like this is all a basic DIY with simple skills and other basic garage vehicle tools tool like a Digitol volt/ohm meter, compression tester, vacuum gauge, cooling system pressure tester, and a good flashlight!
