Low RPM at a stop
Hello all im new to the forum here. My wife acquired a 2007 mazda cx7 from a relative. The car is at 75k and i have already had to deal with the nasty timing chain issue. Something else has popped up here. I am getting a p0455 code. several weeks ago i replaced the gas cap with a locking one. When the code popped up i immediately swapped out the after market cap for the OEM one and cleared the code. It has been about 5 days and the engine light hasnt returned but Now the car is idling low at around 500 rpm and attempting to stall while sitting at a stop in the Drive gear. Any idea if this is related to the EVAP code?

75,000miles or kilometers?
How old are the sparkplugs?
-------------------------------------------------
Give the throttle body & MAF a good clean.
THEN
Disconnect the battery, press the brake pedal for 5 minutes, reconnect battery, start it up with AC off, let it idle for a few minutes, go for a gentle drive & see how it goes.

75k miles. The spark plugs are original on it. I wasnt going to touch those until around 80k miles. I did that reset to clear the original DTC code and I think thats how this issue came about. I will pull the throttle body and try the reset again and see if that helps

I ended up getting to the throttle body, wasnt able to pull it out but managed to spray some cleaner on a rag and wiped up the area. I also did the manual reset and it cleared the code, seems to be running a ton better. Yes i have the 2.3L turbo and Spark plugs will be the next project. I have never done plugs on this car, is it pretty simple? I need to get a service manual eventually.
