Question Keyless entry issue

Hello,
I had to replace the battery in my CX7 and then my key fobs didn't work. I was able to reprogram them, but still have an issue.

Before I hit unlock once and just driver's door would unlock, I hit unlock twice all doors unlock.

Now I have to hit unlock twice and driver's door is unresponsive to either of my fobs.

So neither fob will lock or unlock driver's door at all.

Can anyone help?

Just to clarify, what did you reprogram? Do you have the advanced keyless with just the flat key card or the switch blade style?

but they still don't work is what your saying? 3 ignition cycles, door 3 times, door locks locked and unlocked on their own twice, hit unlock button twice, door locks and unlocks to confirm, repeat with second FOB and still don't work?

AH. Now I caught it. Teach me to try and think late at night. My guess would be the drivers door lock actuator checked out if the other ones are still working. What year is your CX-7? I want to take a quick look at wiring diagram to see how the Body Control Module ties in and sometimes they vary year to year.

Door locks are run thru the Body Control Module. The drivers door lock is on it's own separate circuit and according to wire diagram, there are no connectors between the BCM and door lock. Quick test with light would verify the problem. Have to say, this is the first time I've heard of the drivers door lock circuit being the failure of the BCM. Anything unusual happen before the battery died? Since you put it in program mode, the door switch is obviously working. Hate to condemn the BCM over a forum.

Well I have the car programed the locks to lock when in gear and to unlock in park. The driver's door was not unlocking when I would put it in park. that would happen on and off for a week before the battery died.

First think I would check myself is the actual door lock actuator. I would lean towards that failing before the BCM. Pull the door trim panel and use a test light on either terminal. Operate the locks from the switch and check for power. There is a hidden screw under the rubber pad in the left door pull/arm rest. It will have a sticky backing on it but peel up fairly easy.
