CX-7 2007 - 6SPD Auto Luxury - White smoke from exhaust when idle
I purchased a CX-7 2007 model second hand 3 years ago. It has intermittently poured out white exhaust smoke when idle after a few minutes and is getting worse to the point I'm cautious to drive as plume of smoke gets pretty bad. On research apparently this was a common problem with 2007 model. Best i can gather (novice mechanic) off youtube and internet is that oil is escaping from valve cover breathing in oil to turbo manifold air intake or something like that. I cant get an general consensus/answer off Mazda dealerships or Mazda specialist mechanics even though this seems to be a common fault with the 2007 model. Suggestions have been get a ventilation kit or something about a PVC valve.
Another issue noticed is when driving on highways and get above 90kmph and above the dash temperature gauge indicator drops to bottom cold. Returns to normal when hit city street speeds.
Has any CX7 2007 owners had similar problems ? What did you find was the solution ? and about how much did it cost in $AUD to fix
Thinking should i invest money to fix as has only done 90000kms or count my losses and sell it even if have to take a hit on price. Its becoming a real pain in the ***.
Thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated ?
Thanks Johnno4990
