Car stops getting gas
Can someone please help? I have a 2012 Mazda CX-7 and I've had it for 2 years. The other day we went shopping, filled the car up with gas and it ran fine. We came home and then went out again and drove around for about 20 minutes. That's when the problem started. The car started to act like it was missing so pressed the gas pedal to the floor and it cut out. Waited 5 - q0 minutes and it started up fine and ran good for about 5 - 10 minutes and then it started doing it again. Once the car is driven for a while it seems like it doesn't get the gas anymore. If you lightly press on the gas you get farther but if you push down hard on the gas paddle it stops. Once it stops it will not start again until after it sits for a while. It starts up fine and there are no misses. It runs fine and shifts fine until it goes for a little bit. We have changed the air filter, cleaned the air mass sensor, and put Lucas gas treatment it and it's still the same. Some friends are saying it's the gas, others say no it's the gas pedal, others say no it's the kickdown switch, others say no it's the transmission. I just started a new job and we don't have the money to go through and renew everything. It took me 4 months to find this car and I really like it. I don't want to do what my husband says and trade it in. If anybody knows anything about this please please let me know.
