Default Traded my CX5 For The CX50

Last August I bought a 2021 CX5 that was not the car I ordered. Last week I had to get some work done on it & while waiting, I started poking around. Well long story short, I ended up buying the new CX50 & have never been happier! This car absolutely puts the CX5 to shame. It's the car I wanted from the get-go.

LizN,

Very nice, use it well.

I have a 2020 CX-5 FWD Touring that I leased in June 2020. When the lease comes due in June 2023 I plan one leasing a 2023 CX-50 Preferred. These is nothing wrong with the CX-5 (This is my second), it's just that I like the longer and wider cargo area in the CX-50 over the space in the CX-5. Yes, the CX-50 is lower inside, but it's length and width that I need more of, not height.

How does it compare to the CX-9? The only issues I've had usually were space.

I don't know anything about the CX9 so I can't answer your question.

Curious, in what ways does the 50mput the 5 to shame, besides more storage?

I was at the dealer the other day. They of course had no new vehicles and only a hand full of used ones. As such. the salesmen were just standing around. I asked one what the difference between the CX-5 and CX-50 were. He said the CX-50 had slightly more ground clearance than the CX-5. It is slightly wider inside. The headroom is slightly less to compensate for being a little higher off the ground. I can't tell anybody specifics as to how much more clearance or anything. Since both myself and the GF are 6 foot, I'll probably stay with the 5.

I have yet to see a CX-50 on the road. The pictures sure do look nice, though.

I am looking for a cx50 select. Very hard to find lower trim levels. Local dealers are way above msrp $3000 to $4000.

Every time I find a select within driving distance, (500 miles) the it is already sold suddenly sold.

My 2020 cx5 awd touring is under lease until 4/1/2023. would consider a lease, but terms are not favorable. Been offerd $9000 over payoff, so if I could find a cx50 I would buy rather than lease

I am in Idaho

How in the world do you come up with "it puts the CX-5 to shame. I have test drove the CX-50 and nothing to get excited about. I know looks are subjective BUT I still rather the CX-5 enough that we ordered one over the CX-50.

wow what a way to start as a new forum member?
Normally I am welcoming new members but at times I think with a first response what else will come from a new member like you?
Why is it people cannot understand the concept of PERSONAL taste on vehicle forums.
If someone post, they like it than it is far better to be positive instead of interjecting a negative based on personal opinion of what looks good or not or other functions and operations?

One of the many vehicles I own and drive is a PT Cruise, I get thinking when some makes comments not knowing anything about it only that it is a PT Cruiser!
