Need opinion on in operable car
Need opinion on this, hit a deer July 19th, car has been in shop since and it is now Nov 21st, the part needed keeps getting pushed every month. No ETA on when the part is getting manufactured, what do I do? Has already been escalated to Teir 2 or whatever the F they call it, still not getting answers. I need a car for the holidays, can't afford to buy another one while I'm still paying $400+ month for the car I don't have...do I just keep waiting and keep paying for it? Damn number I call gets me no where, just keeps telling me they are waiting for ETA...
To start the year would help and what part is needed. the part number from your dealership service or parts department helpful
As for the part itself being on B.O. (Back Ordered) did the dealership do a part search locate for all dealerships?
Escalating the part really can do nothing if that part is on back order to be manufactured but it is a nice way to make customers feel something is being done.
There is no legal action that can be taken even if some think lemon law or other tactics, they won't work and you will waste your time and money.
Basically, this is not a singled-out event. as they say sh**t happens and at time manufactures of parts have no control over many factors.
If they did and the part is not yet available, then you next option is for you not the dealership to start looking into finding a part needed at an auto recycler or auto dismantler. A used part is better than no part or waiting for the part to become available.
While this to you seem unreasonable this actually happens more often than most realize. And when i say that I am refereeing to dating back to the mid 1980's. So don't single yourself out or blame Mazda there are always explanations why and those are seldom released and there is no legal action that can be done either.
In the US and I believe Canada the only restriction or federal guidelines is an auto manufacture must make available part for 10 years on all the models sold in the country. Mazda and the part you need is not discontinued and will be available, or a superseded part made available.

2024 cx 50, radiator core support, we were told that this part has a flaw, they not making them anymore...and the new part is on backorder, (400+) and if we get the new part, it may need to be modified to fit. Tired of waiting, don't want to pay monthly for a car I don't have..
Not sure about your state, but in N.C. your insurance company determines the source of the replacement parts and what is and is not approved. Mine is Allstate.
If this is the case, maybe contact your insurance provider and ask for a salvage part to be sourced from a reputable business. LKQ comes to mind. Cite timeliness and availability.
I currently have a vehicle in the body shop receiving used salvage parts when the new were not available.

This is one of the better explanations of the parts availability. But many like it with confirmed and verifiable good information sources of information.
