Default Brakes Wearing Too Quickly

Hi All!

Curious if any of you have had issues with brake pads wearing too quickly? I have a 2023 Meridian and its got about 20K on it. Front brakes already down to 3MM. There is a TSB out on them so getting them replaced. However, the dealer charged for the diagnosis of the issue. This is my first Mazda, is charging for a diagnosis when a TSB is out on it a standard practice I can expect with Mazda? Or is this an issue I should circle back to the dealer on and work this out? I would think the TSB is something that should have been noticed when I took my car in for an oil change a couple weeks ago and they told me the brake pads are wearing thin. Any thoughts?

Also...if anyone has a Meridian, what to you think of the Fallen tires they came with?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum

Frankly you need to talk to the dealer about the service you got on your Mazda regarding your questions.
And fyi if you are going to mention an TSB state the TSB number and then give you Mazda info ,country , month year,VIN ,transmission type and engine size so you can a better more informed possible answer to your questions.

Mazda dealerships as most all brand are an independently owned business so if you don’t like the service go to another dealer.
Based on that how customer service can by rated can vary between dealers no mater what brand ,Chevrolet, Ford, Toyota, ETC., and even Mazda .

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the advice! Figured I'd need to chat with the dealer and / or Mazda but also wanted to reach out on this forum as this is the first time I have owned a Mazda. Love the vehicle so far, the brake issue caught me by surprise though. Looking around this forum others seem to have noticed brakes wearing quick, but though to tell what those issues could be from.

Thanks again!

Forums are generally not a good guide indicator to what some claim as normal problems. Most of the time with enough Q&A it is the drivers that cause or create problems and then blaming the auto manufacturer.

I have repeat customers about every 15 months that need their front pads replaced and either blame it as an engineering defect or poor quality parts. But then I point out and recommend they replace the brake pedal cover from it being badly worn on one side .. lol
