Default What is a reasonable time for a test drive?

I'd like to test drive a CX-5 but for possibly an hour+maybe 2.
Is that a reasonable request to make to a dealer? I'd be happy to return it filled up.

My current car has a "sports suspension" which seemed fine in a 20 minute test drive 3 years ago, but I've learned to hate it for the past 2.9 years - I don't want to repeat that mistake.

Thanks

You can probably arrange the use of a demo car that press use. I'm sure they want to limit the number of miles a new and unsold car gets.

That's absolutely a reasonable request. And don't worry about filling the tank; they budget for that as a cost of doing business. Before buying mine, I test drove several at various dealers, saving the last for the dealer I thought I was most likely to buy from. I told the salesman I really needed more time in the car to make my final decision and then took his demo out for a two hour jaunt through hill and dale.

You could always rent one for a few days. It might give you a better idea of what to expect long term.

As a Mazda salesman, I can tell you that most dealers will put you out on a borrowed car agreement, just make sure you have your drivers license and insurance ready when you come to the dealership.

(and make sure you seem interested in the vehicle you're wanting to buy)
