Default Warranty cover?

I brought an approved used vehicle less than 12 months ago that I've just had a MOT carried out on I've got an advisory that the rear axle is leaking oil
I'm told mazda warranty doesn't cover seals I can't find a breakdown of what is and isn't cover under warranty any help would be appreciated
car is a 21 plate

It helps to post basic vehicle info when asking a question like this. Like the year and miles?

It depends…
This is a question that should and needs to be asked at the Dealership you purchased your Mazda.
And also what exactly the advisory you mention was sent to you and exactly what model more specifically the effected VINs if it was applicable and the advisory stated would cover specific model and year effected vehicles under a warranty?

Many platforms regarding what is and is not warranty covered do not have detailed specific of every parts that are or are not a warranty covered item or service.

The MOT was done by an independent garage.
I have spoken to the mazda dealership and am booked in for them to inspect the car on the 11th April
they independent garage put on the MOT
fluid leak but not excessive rear axle [8.4.1 (a)(i) ]
The car car is a 21 plate CX-5
the garge told me it is quite an expensive job to do
mazda are probably going to tell me they can't fix it

Based on the your info it’s not a Mazda Warranty covered item . So hopefully the Mazda dealership will inform you about the Warranty before they inspect and charge you a basic diagnostic fee. Which they would be in their rights as an independent business.

sorry I don't quite understand what you were asking

"And also what exactly the advisory you mention was sent to you and exactly what model more specifically the effected VINs if it was applicable and the advisory stated would cover specific model and year effected vehicles under a warranty?"

The advisory is the leaking rear axle
model and vin it's a cx5 don't have the VIN to hand

Mazda have told me to expect an £80 charge for the inspection

Sorry gave you information overload.

Now. I understand. It was an independent shop that gave you the service information and not Mazda that changes things. Based on The year of your Mazda (mileage would be at least nice to know ) and no TSB that I can find relating to that area leaking it’s not gonna be covered by By Mazda‘s warranty coverage.
so my advice is talk to the service advisor or writer before you sign to have an inspection done that you’re going to be charged by asking specifically if this is an oil leak of a seal will it be covered under warranty yes or no?

Thanks
The milage is 58000. Ive done 7k since ive had it
When I brought the car approved used it came with 12 months unlimited mile warranty and was told if it fails the first MOT they'd pay £750 towards the cost but as its an advisory not a fail I'm guessing the 750£ isn't eligible
I've contacted mazda via email asking for what the warranty covers and doesn't
just disappointed in buying a 22k £ car less than 12 months ago that i fort would be in good condition for longer than 8 months

With it being a seal in the rear axle, that is part of the drivetrain IMHO. Who knows, with it being inside the 12mth period maybe the dealer (is this where you bought the CX-5?) will cover it or give you a "goodwill" discount. I don't know what the drivetrain warranty is in the UK, but in the US it is 5yr/60k miles from the in service date. I also don't know if a leaking seal in the rear axle would be considered within the draintrain warranty.

Dont count on good will , courtesy service , I looked at the R&R and its is costly as a none warranty general service procedure so Labor hours x current labor rate retail and say - 15% allowance returned to dealer if Mazda approved . And applying it to a straight warranty request it came up as not applicable.

oh forgot this is USA and Canada Mazda Warranty independent authorized service shop information and comparing what we have with Mazda regarding non US sold Mazdas it is pretty much the same thing.
