You can get them free at the website below or for a charge at the dealer.
Just be aware the Toolbox is not foolproof and requires some computer ability.
I would point out, as in the case of more than a few DYI folks, they have ended up having to go to the dealer in the end because they did it wrong.

Are you wanting firmware, or map updates? Firmware is free from some forum members. Map updates will cost you as you only get 3yrs of free updates for the SD card.

Navigation Update
Updated navigation successfully on 2025 CX-5, using Mazda Update Toolbox, no cost. Directions are clear to include backing up SD card. Took an hour with backup. This is for a Mazda sourced SD card, from mazdaswag.com.

You are getting free updates for 3 yrs. For the OP, a new SD card could be purchased or they can update the current one online.

I need the firmware update. I don't intend to buy the map update because I am going to install a carplay retrofit kit
(Hardware and Software) But to do so I need to update the firmware in my car. The needed firmware update is to 70.00.021 or higher my firmware is 50xxxx.
