what s that felt? or cloth? how come it isn't plastic like the front?
What is that material under the fenders in the back? wont snow and ice
tear that up?

I read some where that felt material absorbs the sound created by wheels better than the plastic sheet. Most cars have felt now under wheel arches.It is quite a stiff felt and it should not tear off during normal use. For off roaders it may be a problem but otherwise no.
