Turning ignition on always turns on Audio
Despite pouring through settings on my new 2025 CX5, I can't see a setting, so that radio/USB music isn't turned on
automatically when ignition turned on. That's even if volume is turned off before I turn car off. Didn't happen on my 2019 model.
Any suggestions valued.

In the "older" Mazda Infotainment System, the mute function is remembered when you restart the ignition.
In my CX-5 2023 with the newer infotainment system, the mute function is not remembered as you have noted.
It is very annoying!
I have filed a complaint with Mazda Netherlands in the hope that this will be fixed with updates of the infotainment system, because in my opinion it is a software bug. So far without any result.
At the bottom of the Source List in the Entertainment section, you have the option to select no source. Then your car will not play anything when you turn on the ignition.
The downside is that you have to go to the entertainment menu first and choose a source before you can play any music, which is more clicking and turning than just pressing the mute button.

Until the soft (if it is a problem) is updated the PIA method is to turn the volume to 1 which when you are driving or when the engine first starts most really cant here the sound.
That is another completely different monitoring and control area that could effect you HVAC system and you should be talking to Mazda service about that ASAP. Not by phone or text but in person. This way it will be logged on your VIN in case it ends up to be a WARRATY! .
If you are always listening to the USB stick music then that's no problem. But if you mute (and with mute it also automatically pause) your music on the road, you have to remember that you turn down the volume before you shut off the car and to turn up the volume or mute (pause) the music as soon as you switch the car on.
When I switch the car on the first thing I do (when playing music on an USB stick) is to mute (pause) the music.
That's the least number of actions to do.
Honestly I don't expect a "repair" with a software update...
The downside with this solution is that music played from an USB stick will not pause, but play further without a sound as long as the car is switched on.

It was not a solution only a suggestion nor was it implied as such either, until the actual technical solution is found and corrected. And that is only if Mazda deems it a issue and not user error.
Please don't suggest in the future that I say "SOLUTION" unless that is the exact wording I use. Unlike you I am not a DIY on most threads in this forum.

I also in curious how you can even comment and I quote "Honestly I don't expect a "repair" with a software update" having no facts, bases to support it or in the end any Mazda posted empirical data or information? for this comment.
Maybe next time DONT quote my response and indicate things I did not say!!!!!!
The problem IMHP is members on forum that post like you do and actually cause delays or distraction from some member actually coming here for good advice and service-related help. While I read all your responses,
I can easily say where you fit in.
LOLAns please try again not to suggest that I said something on a thread for my response that I did not. Or I am sure I will need to have the is conversation again which serves no purpose except in your own mid!
