Question TPMS Reset Issue

New member here. I have attempted, repeatedly, to reset the TPMS after installation of a new set of tires. When I follow the Manual instructions, I get the single "beep." However, shortly thereafter, without the car being moved, I get the wrench symbol and instruction to increase tire pressure. Since the car has not moved, and the TPMS uses wheel speed differentiation to monitor the tires, it "cannot know" whether the tire pressure is or is not correct. Anyone else have this experience? Does it indicate a problem with the TPMS monitoring unit?

Welcome to the forum.

Make sure your all your tire pressures are inflated to the correct pressure before you press your reset button.
The system knows if your tires are not at the correct pressure for your year/model and will not reset if they aren't.
If your new tires are not within the same parameters as your OEM tire pressures, it may not reset.
If they are then you may have one or more sensors out or an issue with TPMS itself.
If a sensor is bad the system will not tell you which one.
You don't say what year your vehicle is the sensors/batteries are generally good for about 5-7 years.
At that point, unless you like guessing you are better off taking it to shop.

Basic Mazda reset.
but there are some models that are slightly different that's why when anyone is asking a service question to provide details about your Mazda
Set all the tire pressure OEM recordation found in door jam recommendation. Then with the acc. or starting engine press and hold the tire psi reset button until it flashes on the dash.
If it returns, then likely something was damaged or a part that runs the monitoring system has failed or is failing.

On most ALL Mazda tire size no matter what it is and your x4 setting of PSI does not matter during the reset. Some of us road track and use PSI as low as 20(twenty) psi during the summer depending on the tire type and the flip side as much as 40(forty) + psi the rears to reduce rolling resistance for drag racing use (sanctioned track) and have no problems with the Mazda reporting dropping more than psi below the set psi.
