Question TPMS or ABS?

New member: just acquired a 2022 Premium Plus. My question is, does this vehicle use TPMS or ABS for tire pressure monitoring?
Thanks.

It has TPMS sensors on all the tires for the 2017+ models.

if it has the TPMS sensors like other cars such as the Mazda 3 and 2024 MX-5 then why does it not show the tire pressures on the display or app as the others do.

They do not display actual pressure only the tire symbol during start-up or when the pressure is below the set level.

This indicator also activates if the tire pressure changes more then 5psi both positive(+6psi) and negative. ^^^^^ The positive is generally from normal heat causing the air pressure to increase. Perfectly normal

Probably because Mazda has not seen fit to put the expense into creating a new display. My 2013 MX5 uses the sensors as well, but it does not show the individual tire pressures (although you can get this information through the OBDII connector). My Jeep Grand Cherokee does show individual pressures, but it cost twice as much as the CX5.

For those that understand this information..

r2004-2013 Mazda (most models) a direct TPMS system

2014-2019 Mazda (most model) an indirect TPMS system

Sorry I don't have info from 2019 to preset yet until the next ALLData Update.

In other words, some do not need to access the ECU via a OBDII Diagnostic Scanner to reset after services done either on wheels or sensor replacement while other only the reset button on the dash.

hen changing air pressure, rotating tires, and replacing a TPMS sensor.

ABS is a braking system... has nothing to do with tire pressure.
