Tire Inflation Monitoring System (TPMS)
I just traded for a new 2019 CX 5 Grand Touring. Unlike my 2016 CX 5 I do not have the TPMS switch on my dash, so how do I reset the TPMS after inflating tires? The Owners Manual does help with this question..Thanks
I do not see that option....perhaps that Mazda is smarter than the owner...My 2016.5 had the reset button and my manual for the 2019 does not provide me the reset instructions.. Thanks for your response.
On my 2019 Mazda3, they put the tire pressure monitoring system in the infotainment system. Instead of a simple light, it tells me the pressure in each individual tire. In my system it is in the information screen, in vehicle settings. look around where you find the fuel economy information, it may be in the same general area.
I wish I had the individual tire readings, the way my manual reads it is all by automatic radio signal and resets itself....can not believe that is the state of the art monitoring system...Thanks again I will run the information checks again.
It seems that this applies to my situation....thanks again = To reset your TPMS, which sometimes simply decides to stop working properly even when you have not changed tired, rotated tires or when neither of your tires has undergone a loss of pressure, press the start/stop button until the engine shuts down. Wait 10 minutes. Press the start/stop button until ACC comes on. Wait 10 seconds then press start/stop until ignition is "off." Wait 15 minutes (you can't make this stuff up) and then restart your engine. Oh, but it gets better. Lastly, before Mazda will allow its TPMS to receive encoding from each of the four sensors (utterly absurd), you must then drive your brand new CX-9 (mine is the Signature) at a speed of (wait for it.....) not more than 20mph for (wait for it....) no less than 10 full minutes - BEFORE the TPMS will active its "reset" function. Stupid, but true and it works. Unbelievable, but it actually works. I just had my TPMS light come on for no obvious reason, all tires had the exact same tire pressure I set 1 month ago. I followed those exact set of instructions and after 10 full minutes of driving at or below 20 mph - wait for it - the light went off.
