Strongly considering a 2026 CX- 5
Hi all- we are currently in the market for a new vehicle and the Mazda CX 5 checks all our boxes (actual transmission, safety record, reliability and ergonomics) I have never owned a Mazda before- couple of Subarus, couple of Nissan trucks and Ford and Chevys.....we went to one dealer today to begin looking and the red caught my wife's eye so going to be shopping next week. Look forward to the journey.
I would tell you to research it heavily as the 26 CX-5 just came out. There have been some reports of electronic glitches, which were uncommon in the 25's as they were at the end of the run. The big advantage of the 26 is extra room inside (especially the rear seat legroom). I suggest you try all the vehicles in the segment to make sure you get the right one for you.
Make sure you research where the information comes from. Look specifically at the source. Rumors or bad and unverified, information , warranty serving , minor and normal things happen to any new vehicle even ones that are a new model. Shop for the positive things you want in a new vehicle. Make sure you do a comprehensive test drive so you don’t have complaints later about they you found you don’t like.
There has never been a new vehicle purchased that new owner didn’t have some complaints, disappointments or small issues pretty much ever. And if anyone states otherwise , …..well…
But I can say that most are all from not spending a good time test driving before they purchased and reading every page in the language they understand of the owners manual and actually learning about their new vehicle .
As for one comment about researching a newly release model “ heavily” first there is not enough owner accumulated user miles yet and , unless you really want to wait 6-8 months from date it was released and then see what come up with real empirical reported information and fact based reports it’s always been a bad myth about new models and waiting before buying them for fear they will be lemon. 🍋
