My 2019 CX-5 Signature has a switch on the console next to the shifter labelled "S[port". I've not been able to find a description of this anywhere in the owner's manual. The dealer is clueless..

Far as I can tell, "sport" simply causes the transmission to stay in the lower gears somewhat longer. It doesn't seem to make it downshift more readily (which would be nice).

Anyone have any other information about the functioning of "sport"?

It just changes the shift points of the transmission, makes it feel a bit more " SPORTY"

 

My sport mode quits upshifting in 4th gear. Is that normal?

I do not think it is normal. So on the interstate at 65-70 mph, is it still stuck in 4th gear? If that's the case I would have it checked.

 

Yes, unless I use the manual shifter option the transmission will not shift out of 4th in the Sport mode.
Will have to check dealer as you suggest, unless anyone else has similar experience.
