Default Should TPMS warning light go off eventually?

I have a 2023 CX-5. I do not have TPMS sensors on my winter wheels. I had winter wheels installed on 23 Oct and the warning light has been on ever since. But suddenly tonight the light goes off after start up. Is it normal for the warning light not to come on after a period of time? I also stopped getting low tire pressure warning on my phone app at the same time.

I am please not to have light on but just want to know if this is a malfunction of not. I thought the light remained on all last winter. But I might be wrong.

Note; The tire pressure warning light is illuminated when I turn car on and then it immediately goes off.

It’s not normal . Best advise is install the wheels with the TPMS and reset it. Then you should be fine?
FYI if you are still under warranty I would try my method to reset the TPMS before going to a dealership. This issues will get logged as service record on your VIN.

Thanks Callisto... Where would I find your method for resetting TPMS?

change the tires and push and hold the TPMS reset button for serval seconds. It would be the same button when you check and fill air in the tires to set for the current psi. Look in your owners manual for the exact location on your drive side dash area.

Update
- After about 1 1/2 days the TPMS light re-appeared. But this time it did not flash for 30 seconds before turning on solid. It lit up solid no flashing.
- Then a day or so later the TPMS warning light went back to its normal function where is flashes for 30 seconds or so and then turns on solid.

The CX-5 is going to dealer Friday 05 Dec for the other problem related to the P0126 error code. I will advise them of the TPMS light issue as well to see if they can find anything.

I suggest before you go to the dealer and asking about theTPMS that you make sure your “winter tires and wheels” are in the size use guide or it could effect a warranty.
