Default Radio changes stations by itself

First post from a Newbie here…2017 CX-5 with 16000 miles – (thanks COVID!). For the last year, the radio randomly changes from the preset station that is playing to another preset or to a random frequency (that may or may not be a valid station). I correct the preset change by returning to the audio menu, then favorites and re-selecting the radio station I want to listen to.

Then this week, I noticed the odometer functions on the display have decided to change to Kilometers instead of Miles. Distance to go until fuel is empty, total distance traveled etc. have all changed to the metric version. Again, going in to the menu and selecting the Miles instead of Kilometers puts everything back to the way it was before.

Anyone else have this happen to them? I thought maybe the battery was the problem, so I took the car to a local auto parts store to have the charging system and battery tested. The battery tested out as faulty, while the charging system was operating fine. Since the battery was original and 5 years old, I had it changed – but the mysterious radio changes and now the change from Imperial to Metric distance continue.

Any other ideas? Thanks for any thoughts.

Unlikely your issue but...
My wife complained of the same thing.
Then I saw she was hitting the steering wheel audio controls, wasn't aware of them.
You can also change dash readouts by hitting the small black stick on the instrument panel when cleaning it.
I've hit that by mistake myself.

In the stereo settings, turn off the option for frequency swap. ( can't remember the actual description)

Also, assuming you have a KF series CX-5, they suffer from screen ghosting.

You will to get it scanned for fault codes in the CMU. If you get B108E:04 then you will need a display lens rebuild kit.

Ok, Cool.
I am looking at taking it to my local mechanic with a snap on scan tool. Hopefully this will pick up all codes.
Cheers

So the car yard we bought it from are still saying they need to diagnose it and see if it needs an updat as they reckon they read that the update can fix it. So frustrating.
We have OS version 70.00.367 4A N, I updated music database version to 00.12.003

Anyway i can get the update without going to Mazda?

No, software update won't help, It's a hardware issue, you can get a replacement digitizer in Aliexpress, Amazon, Ebay or OEM but this last one it's very expensive.
Yes, you can update yourself without going to dealer, just follow instructions very carefully.

Good day,
I am having similar issues with a CX5 (2019). Did your random radio changes ever get fixed? And how did you fix it?
