Default Radiator fan runs after car is turned off

Was checking the battery on a 2024 cx-5 select and it came up as n/g...tried to charge but and after a few hours on a 4 amp setting it did improve but not much...its in warranty so i thought maybe try the dealer for new....took it for a test drive and ...maybe 15 minutes....engine temp noted at 200 when i turned off....walking away i heard the fans run so i looked at my watch,,,tic tok tic tok 3.5 minutes then shut off
could this hurt battery...is it normal and something programmed in? never noticed it before , thanks

Normal …for fans if you exceeded 215f ( varies on production year) coolant temperature to run on for 1-4 minutes after engine off depending on the exact year and which ECU programing was in your Mazda ?
Your battery still should have been able to charge to at least 12.50 volts unless it was really bad. Most load testers need the battery voltage at least 10 volts unless to indicate charge and re-test. 12.50 at least give the load tester the minimum to test the batteries health. If your battery was in that bad a condition I highly recommend to have the charging system checked. A good battery load tester can do this or a quality diagnostic scanning tool connected directly to the OBDII Diagnostic connector because the generator output to charge the battery is ECU controlled.

btw what is n/g mean. In a works and time when everything has an acronym sometimes you really need to spell it out.
N/G = no good I am guessing ????

I'm sure N/G means RAT/SHIITE. Not very old but many factors can cause batteries to die. I have 1 car and it needs a new battery every 3 years even with a constant solar charger on it. Frustrating but.

I hate forums that won't let the tiniest bit of normal language to pass without censoring it.

The starting voltage was 12.35 and the cca read at 360...2 hours on the charger and it was 12.7 with 435 cca...the tester was showing to replace battery
i checked the fluid level in two of the cells and it was good.
Does the cx-5 have more than 1 temp sensor for engine? it was a short drive and gauge never went above 200
The other information is that the car does use dash cam front/rear from Garmin -i checked the the settings and it is set to run for 24 hours with each cycle-so i think that means key on or drive...but it does use something called park mode... the Garmin dash cam should shut down with anything less than 12 vdc...
i will be able to leave on charger for a good 8 hours to check, the car usually make's short daily trips of 30 minutes, thanks for the information

2 temperature sensors, one for ambient and the other for coolant.

This forum does not have language watch so you can technically use any words. However, it does have the terms of use that states not to use some langue words. LOL

How do you get the anonym meaning "rat sh*t" from D/G ? I did look it up after tyou posted and it seems its "dag sh*t" but also used as "rat **** ". LOL

Yes, D/G can mean "rat ****" in slang. The term "rat ****" is often used to describe something of exceptionally low quality or utter worthlessness, similar to "dog ****". It embodies disappointment and serves as a verbal weapon to express dissatisfaction.

rolmao ......something I knew (dog sh*t) but and use (rat sh*t) but never used the d/g in a phrase before

I prefer the term feces...
It's one of the ways I try and justify the cost of my 4-year college degree

I used to hear it used frequently on the Navajo reservation in Arizona. Don't know if that was just because it was a favorite of the guys I was hanging out with or a common phrase there.

My favorite scatalogical quote is from an attorney friend of mine who was describing a local prosecutor as "slippery as possum sh*t on a river rock."

Oh I forgot to mention we had a few **** wipes for new members and members starting multiple user accounts that caused a bit of a stir and used many colorful metaphors. Because of that the Administration activated language watch to sensor certain offensive words from being posted. That program even stops if you try to hind the word like I do at times. like sH ------ *---- t LOL
