Default Question About TPMS Light

Hi Everyone,

Just have a quick question reguarding my girlfriend's 2021 CX-5 Touring. Her car is at a little over 50k miles and her TPMS light will randomly come on and flash for a few seconds, but then it will disappear. I set the tire pressure to exactly 34 PSI per the door jamb sticker. Is it fair to assume at least one of the tire sensors is acting up due to a bad battery in it or needing replacing? Her tires were changed 15k miles ago at the end of last year but never had any issues with the light coming on until a couple of months ago. The light doesn't come on often and I just assumed it was just the system rebooting or something the first time. Thanks for any guidance.

The batteries should last 5-10 years.
My wife had the same issues on her Buick Encore shortly after she got new tires.
I bought a calibration unit and tried to reset it, but it didn't work.
Needed a new sensor but had the tech give me the old one so I could look at it and I found there was nothing wrong with the battery.
Possibilities are it was one off "early fail sensor", or it got hit and damaged when the tires were changed.
It's easy to hit them during a tire change and I have no idea how "durable" they are, they seem pretty cheaply made but, as usual are not a cheap part.
When I had new tires put on my CX-5 they reset the sensors and I've had no issues, but I use a different tire shop then my wife.

It's just weird because the light comes on and goes off within seconds. And it's random, but it goes away on its own. I'm assuming it's just one of the sensors acting up but as long as the light isn't on all the time I'll just ignore it.
